Membership of the Victorian Bookbinders Guild runs from 1st July to 30th June each year. Membership forms can be completed online or downloaded and emailed to the Secretary. Annual membership is $60 for a single membership.

Membership Benefits:

  • Three editions of Signature per year, the Victorian Bookbinders Guild newsletter, along with updates from other bookbinding guilds and societies from around the world.
  • Priority booking and discounts for workshops and courses hosted by the Guild.

Upcoming Buy, Swap, and Sell — Tuesday 28th October 2025

Greetings Everyone,

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Buy, Swap, and Sell event is coming up on Tuesday 28th October. For the Buy, Swap and Sell we will have a significant amount of materials and equipment available for anyone interested in bookbinding and print-related tools.

Please note that many of the larger items are heavy or bulky, and we currently have limited labour available for transport. If you’re interested in any specific items, I can provide photos and arrange an inspection in Narre Warren.

Presses
Nipping Presses – 4 available, various sizes (all quite heavy)
Standing Press – newspaper size
Weisner 800mm Laying Press and Plough
Weiser Standing Press and Cabinet Combination

Cutting and Finishing

Guillotine (Floor Mount, 450mm) – needs blade sharpening
Guillotine (Table Top, 300mm) – needs blade sharpening
Blocking Presses – several different sizes and makes

Furniture and Storage
Plan Cabinet – 1600mm x 800mm, 6 timber trays
Type Case – wooden, 450mm x 450mm, 10 trays (includes type)
Bookbinding Tables – 4 available, 1500mm x 600mm, standing height
Backing Press – freestanding, dismantled, heavy

Materials
Book Cloth – various colours (some will be available on the day; message me for specific colours)
Paper – assorted marbled and plain sheets
Board – pre-cut in assorted, odd sizes
